President's Message

Greetings to all!  I am very humbled and honored to be the President of Georgia Internal Affairs Investigators Association for another term. The GIAIA Executive Board has been assembled and promises to assist me in serving you through 2016.  GIAIA is extremely grateful for your support that has made it so successful in the past. The Association urges your continued collaboration for our future.

Ensuring the public can trust its peace officers through thorough, unbiased, honest investigations of those accused or suspected of wrong doing is a major cornerstone of law enforcement professional operations. In turn those same investigations protect peace officers against false or unjust allegations. The annual GIAIA training conferences will further crucial mission of GIAIA to offer support, training, professional standards, and integrity to all who have an interest in the formidable responsibilities of developing, preserving, and improving the internal affairs processes in Georgia.

The Executive Board has planned training conferences that are designed to be dynamic and useful for all who attend. Brasstown Valley is the venue for the Spring conference (16 hours of POST credit), March 14-16, 2016. Please see the details for this conference under the tab on this website titled “Annual Training Conference.” The Fall conference (24 hours of POST credit) September 6-9, 2016, will return to the King and Prince on St. Simons Island at your request. The specific details for this training will be announced in April but save the dates to attend in depth instruction internal affairs investigations.

The GIAIA Executive Board invites you to visit the GIAIA website often and be involved in the Association through its training conferences.
